How does this work?

	How does this work exactly? lifeknot is an online community where people can meet others that share their interests and passions in any activity imaginable - or be introduced to the interests and passions of others. lifeknot isn't just for singles. Users may post Activities, Personal and Favorites profiles and photos. Members may indicate whether they are looking for activity partners, friends, a serious relationship or something else. All contact between lifeknot members on the site is done using an anonymous username and not a real email address. lifeknot features a variety of ways in which to search for other members on the site. lifeknot's Activity Search allows members to find others based on any of the over 1,320 activities listed. lifeknot's Profile Search allows members to find others based on lifestyle attributes. lifeknot's Favorites Search allows members to find others based on books, bands, movies and tv shows. [top] How do I fill out my profiles? There are 4 tabs at the top of the screen. Clicking a tab takes you to a separate section of the site: Your Activity Profile, Personal Profile, Favorites Profile and a "Shared" feature where we'll compare your Activity, Personal and Favorites profiles against other users' profiles, showing you the users with whom you share the most in common. Under each of first three tabs you'll find links labeled: mine \| edit \| search \| pictures \| clipped ads. These links permit you to: view your profile as others will see it (mine), edit your profile (edit), search other profiles (search), upload/view/change your pictures of the tab type (activity or profile pictures), view/quickly access the profiles of other users you've saved (clipped ads). You may associate pictures with either your activity or personal profile by clicking the 'pictures' link under the Activity or Profile tab. When viewing another user's profile there are text links: eMail Me!, Activities, Profile, Favorites, Wave, clip ad, block user that permit you to eMail the user you are viewing, view their Activity Profile, Personal Profile, Favorites Profile, send them a wave (short preset text message), clip/save their profile to a list of users you want to have quick access to, and block users that you do not want to see, respectively. [top] Can I access lifeknot from my cell phone? Yes, you can! You can now access the features of lifeknot's full HTML version from your cell phone and mobile device. Perform activity and personal profile searches, read your lifeknot eMail and waves (ice-breakers), and even send waves to other members right from your cell phone. Subscription

	Why is lifeknot free? Because the best things in life are free. While that's definitely true, we may at some point charge a subscription. Most features, however, will remain free; only requiring a subscription to initiate eMail contact with other users. Though we are also considering remaining a free service. You can support lifeknot and help this happen by shopping at our lifeknot Amazon store or through our Amazon.com links. [top] How do I terminate my membership? Why would you want to terminate your membership? Seriously, you can simply click here to terminate your membership if you're logged in. If not, log in then click "account info" from the menu bar then "account information," but don't go we'll miss you. [top]

Passwords

	Why isn't my password working? lifeknot passwords are case-sensitive. Meaning: the words "life" and "LIFE" are not the same. If you can't remember how you typed your password you can click here to request a new temporary password be sent to you. [top] I forgot my lifeknot ID / username. click here to request a new temporary password be sent to you. The e-mail you receive with your new pasword will list your lifeknot ID / username. [top] Can you remember my password (automatically log me in)? Yes. Click the 'Remember me' checkbox when you login in and we'll store an encrypted cookie on your computer. This cookie will be used to automatically log you in the next time your visit lifeknot. To delete this cookie, simply log out of lifeknot. [top]

eMail
	How do I change the email address I have registered with lifeknot? If you are logged in you can click here. If not, log in then click "account info" from the menu bar then "User Information." [top] How do I specify how often I want to be notified of having lifeknot eMail? If you are logged in you can click here. If not, log in then click "account info" from the menu bar then "eMail Preferences." [top] How do I change the format (html, text) of the eMail you send me? If you are logged in you can click here. If not, log in then click "account info" from the menu bar then "eMail Preferences." [top] How do I stop receiving activity group eMails? Simply edit your Activities profile and uncheck the checkbox next to the activities you no longer want to be on the group eMail list for. Please know that when other lifers reply to group eMails you've already received you will be copied on the reply. But you will no longer be included on new group eMails to that activity. [top]

Pictures
	Can I send you pictures in the mail? You sure can. If you don't have a digital picture we'd be happy to scan your pictures for you free! Click here for instructions on mailing your pictures to us. [top]

Searching
	Can I search for a user by their username? Yes. Click the username search on the Home page (click the logo at the very top-left of every page to go to Home Page) [top] Why don't I see my profile in my search results? Your own profile will not be returned in your activity, profile and favorites searches. But be assured that it will be shown to other users. To see how your profile looks to other users, you may click the 'mine' link under the Activities, Profiles, and Favorites tab. You may, however, perform a username search on yourself and that will return your profile(s). [top]
